Schneider Electric Announces IoT-enabled Enhancements for EcoStruxure Power

P

Press Release

BOSTON, Mass. (November 13, 2018) – Schneider Electric, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, today announced enhancements to its EcoStruxureTM Power digital energy management system architecture. In response to global demand for reduced carbon intensity, greater operational efficiency, and business continuity, the expanded EcoStruxure Power 2.0 now makes management of low and medium voltage power distribution and energy simpler for building, grid, industry, and data center customers.

EcoStruxure Power leverages IoT and digital technologies, bringing together the company's industry-leading connected products, edge control software, apps, analytics, and services. With open integration, real-time operations, and advanced analytics, the latest version of EcoStruxure Power delivers a complete digital experience for facilities teams to help optimize people and asset safety, improve reliability and operational and energy efficiency.

The new EcoStruxure Power enhancements are designed to monitor, manage and protect end-users while delivering enhanced security, reliability, performance and compliance with industry standards. New Enhancements include:

Wiser Energy System

The second generation of the Wiser Energy System, an integrated monitoring system, provides insights intohomeowners' energy and home activity. Wiser Energy provides real-time, easy-to-understand, actionable data to help homeowners make confident energy management decisions.

    • Give their home a voice – Wiser Energy self-identifies individual devices in the home using big data algorithms. Homeowners can set custom alerts for these devices that notifies them when something turns on/off, or if anything unusual is happening.
    • Enable aging in place – Wiser Energy simplifies daily, independent life for an aging population, while providing peace of mind to loved ones and caretakers that electrical systems and appliances are working safely.
    • Optimize solar installations – With hundreds of thousands of new-construction solar builds in California by 2020, homeowners can rest assured they're maximizing the return on their solar investments with Wiser Energy's monitoring capabilities.

Easergy P3

The Easergy P3 system and arc flash protection relay is designed to protect both equipment and end users. This protection will trip a circuit breaker when a fault is detected and is designed to save operational time and limit equipment damage with state of the art arc flash system protection. The Easergy P3 is a major step forward in Medium Voltage equipment protection and control devices. Easergy P3 is simple to integrate and operate for panel builders and system integrators. It makes every stage of the project significantly faster, from off-the-shelf product selection, to installation and configuration.

Square D Brand Masterpact MTZ Next Generation LV Air Circuit Breaker

Schneider Electric launched its next generation Square D Brand Masterpact MTZ low voltage power circuit breaker. The new Masterpact MTZ air circuit breaker takes the lead in power system uptime and energy efficiency with its highly advanced onboard communications and Class 1(<1% error) metering accuracy built into every circuit breaker. It also allows wireless remote control of the circuit breaker via Bluetooth LE keeping maintenance staff outside the arc flash zone during operation. These innovative advancements in technology are an industry first.

As part of Schneider Electric's comprehensive EcoStruxure Power Platform, the Masterpact MTZ is an industry leading, world class circuit with all new IoT enhanced digital capabilities. It includes wireless communication, customizable/downloadable applications, integrated analytics and advanced metering and sensing technologies that address evolving industry challenges.

Schneider Electric continues to introduce new additions to its IoT-enabled EcoStruxure Power architecture to strengthen power management capabilities and improve efficiency and reliability.
