As IT and OT networks converge, organizations are charged with protecting high-value cyber physical assets across a much broader attack surface and against more advanced threats. To keep pace with emerging threats and greater risk exposure, the average enterprise now deploys more than 45 different security technologies. While the sheer volume of alerts is a big part of the problem, tracking, investigating, and trying to remediate alerts from many different sources requires a great deal of manual effort on the part of security operations center (SOC) staff. Focusing staff time and attention on the alerts that count can mean the difference between serving a customer and operational downtime.

In this webinar, we will explore how IT-OT convergence is impacted by greater risk exposure, emerging threats, and complexity that slows threat-hunting. In addition, we’ll share four key use cases that demonstrate the value orchestration, automation and response provisioning is to a security teams.

Endpoints — specifically, devices that are enabled by Wi-Fi connections to share data across an industrial environment — are frequently targets of compromise or attacks. These devices can include mobile devices and laptop computers, as well as sensors, gauges and other elements used in industrial environments that physically control a process with a cyber-connection.

It can take just minutes, if not seconds, to compromise endpoints and put industrial environments at risk. One recent study found that 30% of security breaches involved malware that was installed on endpoints. Operational Technology (OT) endpoints are particularly vulnerable, given that legacy technology powers environments like our manufacturing plants, power stations, and other critical infrastructure. Many organizations rely on an air gap for cybersecurity to protect their industrial environments. Unfortunately, the air gap is a double-edged sword. While it may help insulate and shrink the attack surface, like all prevention measures, it does not provide 100% protection.

During this webinar we will explore the following:

  • How to stop breaches and prevent data loss and ransomware damage with no dwell time
  • How to eliminate alert fatigue and optimize operations with customizable, standardized incident-response processes
  • How to ensure business continuity in the event of a security incident, keeping systems online
  • And, how to reduce the cost of legacy Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions enabling response and remediation without negatively impacting business

Cyberattacks and threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated and dangerous. Cybercriminals are eagerly adopting new innovations, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to maximize attack effectiveness. As operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) converge, the business risk increases given the broadening attack surface. Security teams possess the power to detect, deflect and defeat these attacks by harnessing breach protection technologies designed to improve security effectiveness and performance and support your IT-OT security strategy.

This webinar will explore the fundamental protection to look for in next-generation firewalls: segmentation with sandboxing to stop known and unknown IT- and OT-based threats. We’ll also examine deception technology that lures attackers away from critical infrastructure and blocks attacks before they can act.  And to help overburdened security operations teams, we’ll discuss advancements in AI that augment security teams with a virtual security analyst to accelerate investigation of IT- and OT-based attacks. As you mature your security strategy, you need the ability to detect, deflect and defeat known and unknown threats before the real damage is done.

Events of the past few months have strongly impacted industries and businesses worldwide, while presenting unprecedented challenges to the way we work and live. As we learn the “New Normal” and try to adopt it into our lifestyles, we also need to learn how to improve our level of preparedness to minimize the impact of another crisis, like the current pandemic.

In this webinar we will review the impact of the pandemic on IIoT and smart factory, opportunities and challenges, solutions and technologies, and existing and potential future IIoT products that make our manufacturing powerful, productive and flexible. Technologies such as 3D printing, track-and-trace, Li-Fi (light fidelity) and 5G (fifth generation mobile network) will be discussed.

Speaker: Farid Bichareh, Chief Technology Officer, AASA Inc. -01LightComm, and IIC Chair of Smart Factory
